Movie: Bienvenue à Marly-Gomont 1h 36 minutes

Seyolo Zantoko, the main character, earned his degree at a French Medical school and was the only African male in his class to do so. He then started searching for jobs as a doctor and was offered a position, working as a doctor for the president of Zaire. In fear of the corruption in his country, he declined this offer. Later, he was offered a job as a physician in the small town of Marly-Gomont in France. This offer, he accepted because he hoped for a better education and lifestyle while living in France.  His family, however was disappointed because they would be unable to live in the popular town of Paris. While in Marly-Gomont, Seyolo and his family find it hard to adapt to life in France. His children, Sivi and Kamini were being bullied at school and faced discrimination. All at the same time, Seyolo struggled to keep his clinic alive and support his family. After delivering a farmer's baby, Seyolo and his family earn the trust of the villagers and his clinic became successful. Later on, however, Seyolo was arrested by the French police because his nationality hadn't been approved yet. The only way he could be let out of jail and start his clinic again was if the current mayor was re-elected. The current mayor supported Seyolo and his clinic and if he was re-elected he would have the authority to free Seyolo and let him continue his business. However, the current mayor's supporter, Lavigne, an opposer of Seyolo's clinic, was ahead in the polls and there were not enough voters to change the outcome. Through all this, Sivi, Seyolo's daughter had risen to the top in soccer. She became an outstanding  player in the local team and she was essential in their win of the championships. If the current mayor didn't win the election, Seyolo and his family would have to move and the local team would be ill-prepared for the championships. Using this argument, the family convinced many people to vote in favor of the current mayor and he won the election. As a closing scene, the school children perform a play that portrays the eventual acceptance of Seyolo and his family. Seyolo's clinic re-opens and he along with his family continue to live in Marly-Gomont.
